The Answer.

I was walking through the mall one weekend when the idea for this post came to me. The world has more noise now than ever and much of it doesn't have a positive affect on us. It’s unavoidable like in the mall, for example, and in a vast majority of other public places that all play music.

Music in and of itself is a totally different study which I'm sure I'll write about in the future, but it is one of the literal noises we have to deal with that surrounds us in every day living. It’s one of the main devices the god of this world uses to allure us, so we must guard ourselves.

Waiting rooms, restrooms, and restaurants (just to name a few), all play music. Clearly, it isn't something we can just avoid all together.

After really thinking about and personally experiencing the unavoidable and dangerous effect that music can have on our spiritual lives because we are constantly surrounded by it, my question to God was, "How do I guard myself from these things so I don't get drawn into the world?".

The next day, I sat down eager to search The Word for this answer, but I didn't know where to start.  So I turned to my dad my spiritual authority for advice, which I highly recommend doing , and the first thing he told me to do was to simply pray.

Once I had taken the advice given to me and prayed, I sat down to write out my thoughts from the day and in that moment it hit me (from God I'm sure). The simplicity of the answer really just made me speechless.

It’s Him! The wonderful, all-knowing, and mighty God is the answer. Even though we don't like to always hear it, He really is the answer for everything.

In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God! (John 1:1).

We can get to know His voice through His word and through prayer. If you don't know how to pray just go to His word and the answers will be there.

We shouldn't just talk to Him when we're in trouble and see that we need protection, but rather we should start our day in fellowship with Him and let Him lead and protect us through the noisy world.

  1. Very good thoughts! I agree! We've been trying to shut even our Christian music off more and sit and think. It's a noisy world that's for sure.-hanna
